Wherein “福” is the most favorite and popular word and character to be used during Spring Festival.

However, what on earth is the true meaning of “福”?

“福” means "happiness".

The right half of “福” can be dissolved into “一口田”, which means one has a piece of farm land.

But this only fills one half of a whole happiness. As a man having a piece of farm land has to work hard for food and drink, which does not make much difference from a cattle. Therefore, to get materially satisfied only makes one half of “福”. The left half of “福”,示, is more important, which represents God. In addition to being materially satisfied, one should be blessed by God in order to get a whole happiness.
